Tung Wah Group of Hospitals collaborated with Hong Kong Institutes of Certified Public Accountants for launching the “Healthy Budgeting Family Debt Counselling Programme” in June 2002 to assist individuals in need with debt issues..
Subsequently, due to the enthusiastic response to the programme and an increase in service demand, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals officially established the “Healthy Budgeting Family Debt Counselling Centre” in 2003 to serve the wider community.
As of today, the Centre has developed into a comprehensive financial planning and education service, offering a variety of services including financial management workshops, professional training, debt counselling, and youth entrepreneurship incubation, to meet the diverse financial management needs of society.
MISSION
Assistance with debt issues
We provide a one-stop support for people facing financial difficulties, offering financial advice and individual counselling to help them tackle problems and find suitable solutions. Our counselling services also help clients manage the emotional and family stresses that can come with money troubles, promoting harmony at home.
Promoting "Healthy Budgeting" Concepts
With a focus on early prevention, the centre actively promotes the concept of healthy financial management to the public. We offer a range of financial education services to encourage good money-management habits.

Debt counselling service
Our services are provided by specially trained social workers, who offer counselling service on clients’ emotional distress and interpersonal relationship while settling their debt issues. We also transfer client to other relevant social service units if necessary.
Financial Education Service
We believe everyone should learn about the importance of healthy budgeting since young age.
Therefore, T.W.G.Hs Healthy Budgeting Family Debt Counselling Centre promotes healthy budgeting to the public, especially young people.
